Overview
Choose the fixing method to suit the wall condition, keep full adhesive coverage at every board edge, and add mechanical support where required.
Key points
- Wall is sound and free of loose mortar, dust and contaminants
- Board edges are fully supported with adhesive
- Boards checked for line, level and plumb before adhesive cures
- Mechanical washer fixings added where the substrate or project requires
Installation steps
-
1
PLUMB WALLS: FULL-BED METHOD
Where walls are plumb and free of excess mortar, trowel a suitable tile adhesive onto the wall or the back of the board using a notched trowel. Press the board firmly into place and check for full, even adhesive contact.

OUT-OF-PLUMB WALLS: DOT AND DAB
For walls that are out of plumb, or where excess mortar prevents full-bed fixing, apply continuous adhesive around every board edge with enough adhesive dabs through the field. Where required, provide additional support using Thermasheet knock-in washer fixings.
