ONE CONSISTENT SURFACE, ONE SEAMLESS FINISH
When a microcement applicator was commissioned to finish the frontage of this home, one of the key concerns was applying the finish across multiple existing substrates. Different materials can behave differently with changes in temperature, moisture and movement, potentially creating stress at the junctions and increasing the risk of visible cracking in the finished surface.
Rather than applying microcement directly over a combination of substrates, the installer chose to clad the entire area with 12mm ThermaSheet™ boards, creating one consistent and stable surface across the façade.
Lightweight and easy to cut and install, ThermaSheet™ provided a uniform cementitious substrate ready for the microcement system, while also allowing different underlying construction materials to be brought together behind a single continuous surface.
The result was a practical solution that simplified preparation, reduced the challenges associated with transitioning between different substrates and provided an ideal foundation for achieving the clean, seamless microcement finish the project required.
